Our Story

Performance driven.
Race proven.

Kove builds lightweight, high-performance motorcycles across rally, adventure, sport and street — and develops the engines, frames and electronics that go into them in house. What the race team learns is what the road bikes inherit.

The Company

Young Brand.
Old-School Discipline.

Founded in 2017 and still building at pace — but with development, tooling and assembly kept close to home rather than farmed out.

Kove was established in 2017 in Chongqing, China, and operates as a subsidiary of Tibet Summit Colove Motorcycle Sales Co., Ltd. The business brings research, development, manufacturing and sales together under one roof, covering mid-to-large displacement motorcycles, new-energy motorcycles and the core components that go inside them.

That vertical approach is the point. From engines and frames through to final assembly, the parts that decide how a motorcycle actually rides are developed and built in-house — which is unusual for a manufacturer this young, and the reason the range moved so quickly from a standing start to a credible performance line-up.

The company is recognised as a high-tech enterprise and as a Chongqing “Specialized and Sophisticated” enterprise, and now sells across dozens of countries and regions. By its own reckoning it sits fifth among Chinese motorcycle brands in the 250cc-and-above class — a position reached in well under a decade.

Race To Road

Four Years At Dakar

For Kove a race is not a marketing exercise — it is the development programme. The rally team runs the 450 RALLY EX platform at Dakar, the Taklimakan Rally and the Rallye du Maroc, and what breaks, holds or improves out there feeds directly back into the road range.

Dakar Debut

First Chinese Manufacturer On The Dakar Grid

Kove became the first Chinese manufacturer to line up at the Dakar Rally, with Chinese riders on Chinese-built machinery. Every bike the team entered reached the finish — a first for any manufacturer on its debut. Sunier took P46 overall, Deng Liansong P67 and Fang Mingji P77.

On The Pace From Stage One

A second Dakar campaign, and the first sign of outright speed rather than simply survival: Mason Klein put the 450 RALLY EX third fastest on the opening stage, against factory machinery from far older names.

Best Dakar Result By Any Chinese Brand

French rider Neels Theric brought the bike home P15 overall — the strongest Dakar finish a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has recorded. Sunier backed it up in P37, with both riders on the same 450 RALLY EX platform sold to customers.

Stage Wins In R2

Theric won three R2 class stages — SS4, SS5 and SS8 — with the SS4 result standing as the first Dakar R2 stage victory for a Chinese motorcycle brand. Sunier finished P35 overall after a P24 stage run on SS10.

Engineering

Developed In House

More than 100 granted patents across powertrain, chassis, new-energy and intelligent systems — because the hard parts are designed here rather than bought in.

100+ Patents

Multi-Cylinder Engines

Engine families designed and built internally, from single-cylinder rally units through to multi-cylinder performance motors.

Axial-Flux Motors

Axial-flux electric motors developed in-house — technology only a handful of Chinese companies engineer themselves.

Smart Controllers

Control units adaptable across two-wheel, four-wheel, aviation and hybrid applications, developed alongside the hardware they run.

100+ Granted Patents

Protected work spanning powertrain, chassis, new-energy systems and onboard intelligence.

The Factory

Built By A Smart Factory

Production runs on AI, digital-twin modelling, big data and connected equipment, so tolerances stay tight and the range can keep iterating.

01

Digital Development

AI, digital-twin simulation, big data and IoT are used from design onward, so problems are found in software before they reach metal.

02

Automated Assembly

High-precision automated lines handle robotic assembly, automatic sealing and intelligent shimming — the steps where human variance costs most.

03

Kept In-House

Core development and manufacturing stay under Kove’s own control, from engines and frames through to final assembly.

04

Stable, Iterating Output

Annual capacity for mid-to-large displacement machines with steady output and the headroom to keep updating models rather than freezing them.

Looking Forward

Electric, Connected, Intelligent

Kove’s stated direction is deliberately early rather than reactive: electrification, connectivity and intelligence are being developed now, in parallel with the combustion range, instead of being bolted on later.

That means new-energy motorcycles engineered around purpose-built axial-flux motors and controllers rather than adapted parts, and connected systems designed with the vehicle rather than after it. The same in-house habit that produced a competitive rally bike inside a few seasons is being pointed at the next generation of machines.

For riders, the practical upshot is a range that keeps moving — developed under competition pressure, built on equipment that can hold a tolerance, and sold and supported through a UK dealer network.
